Little Lost Letters

Hey my first classroom,

I thought I was big enough to conquer the world when I first came to you! Even though I was disappointed big time cause there was nothing big to read and I went to more than three nursery schools before I came to you, you were the first classroom of my dreams! You looked exactly like the schools from malayalam stories mom read to me. So nostalgic with long verandas and big Jamun trees. And the big plus point you got was that map of India and Kerala on your wall. Man, I fell for it and You became ‘The First Classroom of My Life’.

Even though the duster fights bored me I loved to take that walk in rain to you with my new poppy kuda, (oh no poppy was my brother’s, mine was always John’s Kuda😍. I even changed the poppy kuda jingles to
“Mazha mazha kuda kuda
Mazha vanna John’s kuda”
Hehe I know! My big brother used to laugh at me for singing this🙈😂).

You remember that big Cypress tree with enormous roots where we played? God you were beautiful and perfect for me to start my school days. I spent my sweaty afternoons sitting on those roots to spot my brother from the squirming crowd of blue and white big boys! Oh he was never to be found. I even doubted if we studied in same school or what at that point of time. Evenings were fun because that’s the only time where I get to meet my brother. We played through your long verandas while waiting for mom to come and pick us up after her meetings. And remember how I broke my arm? Hehe it was so funny right? Hehe stubborn little me.

God time flies! We didn’t even realize that those were the last time we played together like two monkeys. You gifted me a beautiful childhood with a lot of rain scented memories. I don’t know why they demolished you, yet you and that big cypress tree will always be cherished in my memories.
Hope that this little lost letter will find you.
